Huge quantity of dry ganja found in a car involved in accident in Khammam

Khammam: Police have stumbled upon a huge quantity of dry ganja (Marijuana) following a road accident at Manchukonda village of Raghunathapalem mandal in the district on Tuesday. It was said that the value of the contraband found packed in 50 bags could be around Rs 70 lakh.

The car in which the substance was being transported overturned as its driver was trying to manoeuvre a sharp curve at the village due to over speed.

The driver was identified as Banoth Surender (27) died instantly. According to the police the deceased has recently secured a job in TSNPDCL as lineman.

It was suspected that the deceased might have been hired to transport ganja from Odisha for selling in AP, TS and others states. Raghunathapalem Sub-inspector P Santhosh visited the spot and booked a case in connection with the incident. More
